by the docks, we go looking for steves
frozen key

lime pie on a stick
covered in raspberry

and dipped in chocolate
on a dark night

huddled in a little january
car, before the newspaper’s guinness

pie takes five hours until midnight
to bake, from misreading. one moon

and you’ll move permanently
to the opposing

coast and we are meat, meat
popsicles

in this parking lot of the washed out
adoring the baby-faced boy

peering back.
